Atatürk University Attended the 14th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF’19) as the Only Public University
The International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF), one of the 5 largest defense industry fairs in the world, where Turkish defense industry products are showcased, received a passing grade from visitors and exhibitors.

Rector Çomaklı: “Universities Have Very Important Duties in the Production of Domestic and National Products”
Attending the opening of the fair and visiting the booths of university units, Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı: “Universities have a very important role in the production of domestic and national products and technologies in the field of defense industry, which is one of the main focuses of our country’s 2023 vision goals. We are making the necessary effort to fulfill our duties within the framework of the New Generation University Vision ”.
Rector Çomaklı stated that the outputs obtained during the completion of the Eastern Anatolia Observatory and the infrastructure to be obtained with the completion of the observatory will form the basis for defense industry-oriented studies, and that important commercial connections were established in the meetings between domestic and foreign participating companies and our units.

Private meetings were held with ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN, TR-TEST, TÜBİTAK, SSB, FNSS, MGM, MSB, HAVA FORCES and many companies in order to establish collaborations and increase university-industry-public cooperation. Along with this, especially the works carried out and being carried out within the scope of the DAG project; The rocket design, 4th Generation Electronic Hand Grenade and Unmanned Land Vehicle designs produced by our university and awarded within the scope of Teknofest attracted the attention of many domestic and foreign participants attending the fair. In addition, hundreds of sector representatives, managers and visitors who visited our stand received information about the projects and products carried out at our university and our university.
